Ellicott City, MD --(8/25/08)-- Service Aluminum Corporation has received a "Top Preferred Scrap Supplier Award" from Alcoa (NYSE:AA) at Alcoa's 2008 Strategic Supplier outing.

The designation was given to ten scrap metal vendors that meet Alcoa's rigorous selection criteria, which includes scrap volume, quality and value.

"This elite group of suppliers work closely with us in understanding each others needs and objectives to improve the scrap quality and processes within the Alcoa plants," said Kevin Anton, President Alcoa Materials Management.

For Service Aluminum Corporation, a scrap aluminum trading company that started in 1987, being given this honorable award for the first time marks an important milestone.
