ALCOA NAMES SERVICE ALUMINUM ONE OF 2012 TOP NORTH AMERICAN SCRAP SUPPLIERS
MD --(10/18/2012)-- Alcoa (NYSE:AA) recognized Service Aluminum Corp as one of the Top North American Scrap Suppliers for 2012. This marks the second time Service Aluminum has been honored by Alcoa's Scrap purchasing group as one of the best scrap suppliers in terms of safety, quality, volume breadth of supply to multiple locations, and delivery performance.
"Working closely with suppliers and recognizing their efforts to deliver high-quality scrap in a safe and reliable manner continues to be an important component of our overall plan to continue to grow the usage of scrap into our locations," said Gary S. Doughty, North American Scrap Materials Manager. "In 2012, we enhanced our program to provide feedback to our suppliers on how they are performing against our scorecard. We’ve had positive response from numerous suppliers regarding the quarterly feedback that this helps them to help us. We plan to continue with this initiative as we look to the future to meet our growing need for scrap across our North American facilities," added Doughty.
Since its founding in 1987, Service Aluminum has grown into a leading supplier of scrap aluminum with a strong focus on customer care.

ALUMINUM RECEIVES "TOP SUPPLIER" AWARD FROM ALCOA

Preferred Scrap Supplier Award" from Alcoa (NYSE:AA) at Alcoa's 2008
Strategic Supplier outing.
The designation was given to ten scrap metal vendors that meet Alcoa's
rigorous selection criteria, which includes scrap volume, quality
elite group of suppliers work closely with us in understanding each
others needs and objectives to improve the scrap quality and processes
within the Alcoa plants," said Kevin Anton, President Alcoa Materials
For Service Aluminum Corporation, a scrap aluminum trading company
that started in 1987, being given this honorable award for the first
time marks an important milestone.
